The #MadeOnAMobile Filmmaking Academy!
This is the result of individuals asking if I am running workshops anytime soon. And of course the challenge is getting a venue and a date that suits everyone. Well, this approach solves one of those two completely and the other partially.
The location is Zoom. And I know it’s not everyone’s favourite but I promise you this course is step-by-step, it’s practical and you can follow along at home.
And in fact, Zoom is so good at aspects of this training that even my courses for business are partially online.
The other issue I’ve tried to solve is what time of day. I have people across the globe who would like to participate – plus people at work or people who can’t do evenings… so this course has two options per week. The first workshop is Thursday evening at 7.30pm (UK time, GMT) and then it’s repeated on Friday morning at 9am.
Both workshops are live – I’m there – you’re not watching a video. So, if you have a question, I can answer it.
What else?
There are lots of other goodies too like you can book onto a Q&A sessions which is limited to five participants so that you can ask questions and have a chat without the pressure of 1-2-1 but also be able to get a word in.
Having said that, if you want a 1-2-1 there are two 15min sessions bundled in with the course – you just need to book a time.
What else do you need to know?
It’s both Apple AND Android compatible, phone or tablet.
The course lasts six weeks, each week being a 90 min workshop – because we have families and lives and I don’t want extended workshops to be a barrier to attendance.
Cost: £79 per person – I will certainly run the programme again in 2024 but not at this price. So get in early.
Details:
The first workshop is Thursday 9 November (7pm – 8.30pm) and every Thursday thereafter for the next five weeks.
The session will be repeated on Friday morning (10 November) at 9am – 10.30am (and for the following 5 weeks)
You don’t have to decide which workshop you attend or be consistent throughout the course, it’s up to you. Come to both every week if you want.
Each week we’ll cover an aspect of creating video content on your phone – both shooting and editing.
Topics include:
• Mobile kit – grips, tripods and mics
• Shooting video on your phone, composition and audio
• Editing clips on your phone using Kinemaster app (FREE with small watermark)
• Designing and developing content for social media and the web
• Storytelling tropes and techniques
• Slo-mo and timelapse
And more…
Week to week you’ll develop, plan and produce your own 60 second film.
