Local Hero, 40 + 1

It’s almost a year since I had the amazing opportunity to document the 40th anniversary celebrations in Pennan, North East Scotland.

In case you’re unaware, Local Hero is a British Classic of a film, written and directed by Glasgow filmmaker Bill Forsyth (Gregory’s Girl).

It’s the story of the people of Furness, a sleepy village in the north of Scotland, who are presented with the opportunity to sell up to a massive American oil corporation and become overnight millionaires – “I wonder what the poor people are doing tonight?”

It’s both poignant and laugh out loud funny with memorable characters including early turns for Dennis Lawson and Peter Capaldi alongside scene sealing cameos from Fulton Mackay and Burt Lancaster – a timeless story about what really matters in life.

My 10 minute summary, which includes interviews with four cast members is my most watched video of the last 12 months. You can watch below for FREE…
