In 2021 I produced a series of short films with the architect of the EH Smith Design Centre in Clerkenwell, East London. The films told the story of how the project came about, the thinking behind the choices and the potential for this innovative space.
Fast forward a few years and the Design Centre is inspiring designers and clients in ways no one imagined.
And so it’s no surprise that in their 101st year of business the Birmingham based firm is “building’ on the success of the London Design Centre, and in collaboration with Howells (formely Glenn Howells Architects), EH Smith are preparing to showcase the opportunities for innovation and inspiration through sustainable materials via the Digbeth Design Workshop!
EH Smith said, “Work has begun to transform this Victorian factory into a place to inspire the 21st Century construction sector to meet the challenges ahead.”
And I’m fortunate to be following and documenting the process, this time, not retrospectively, but as it happens.
So, a few weeks ago I was in photographing and shooting as well as flying my drone around this shell of a building and produced this short teaser of what’s to come…
