The #PlayfulComms Podcast Workshop is a practical, beginner-friendly podcasting course designed to help individuals, businesses, and organisations launch a podcast with confidence. Created and delivered by Jon Gill, the training takes participants from the earliest stages of podcast planning and storytelling through to recording, production, and publishing.

While there are millions of podcasts online, podcasting remains one of the most powerful tools for building trust, community, visibility, and authentic audience connection. This workshop focuses on helping participants discover why a podcast matters for their brand, business, creative project, or passion — before diving into the technical side of production.

Drawing on nearly two decades of podcasting experience, including his own #OnTheFlyPodcast and productions for organisations such as Scottish Enterprise, Jon teaches a simple, accessible approach to podcast creation using equipment participants already own, including phones, tablets, and laptops. The workshop covers podcast structure, interview techniques, audio quality, recording workflows, storytelling, editing, publishing and essential podcast production skills without overwhelming beginners with unnecessary complexity or expensive gear.
